In wandering around the streets of Rome, I came across this bridge over the Tiber river with all these statues of angels. It was called The Bridge of Angels or Ponte Sant’Angelo in Italian, and it was built in the year 134! Amazing. So I wanted to get that bridge plus the dome of St. Peter in the same shot, so I walked down the river to the next bridge, and there I set up my composition.

I set up a mini tripod on that second bridge, and took the day shot, then took out three tiny pieces of tape and marked the legs, hoping no-one would find it or remove them. I went back at night, found my tape, and made the night shot. It was autumn, November, which is why that tree on the right is turning yellow. The lights on the water at night really made the shot.
